RGIII's Knee Worries Dr. Andrews- what happened on the sidelines that day?

There is apparently a discrepancy regarding the sideline management of RG III’s LCL injury which happened a few weeks ago. This article describes a situation which comes up often in the world of sports medicine, where sideline physicians have to balance the long-term interest of the athletes they are covering with the short-term interest of the team and game situation. Strict policies are now in place for sideline evaluation of concussions prior to return to play, but not for extremity injuries.
